Our story

Built in a truck.
Not a boardroom.

MileBrain didn't start as a software idea. It started as one owner-operator's problem — and it got solved the way truckers solve things. By hand, at night, until it worked.

A working owner-operator in Detroit, running the week every owner-operator knows: loads scattered across texts and scraps of paper, invoices tracked from memory, fuel receipts stuffed wherever they landed, IFTA rebuilt from a pile when the quarter came due. Numbers that never agreed with each other. Detention sat at shippers for hours and never got collected — because nobody wrote the times down. Brokers got paid slow, and nobody was chasing them, because chasing takes a list and there was no list.

The worst part wasn't the paperwork. It was not knowing. Was that load at $2.10 a mile good money or a slow bleed? Nobody could say, because nobody knew the real cost per mile. So cheap freight got hauled with a full tank of hope.

MileBrain got built to run his own company first. Not for a demo. Not for investors. A dispatch board because loads were getting lost. A breakeven engine because "is this rate any good?" deserved an exact answer. One-tap invoices because notebooks don't chase payments. Check-in and check-out times per stop because detention money is real money — and now it gets flagged automatically after two hours on site.

Every feature in the app exists because a real load demanded it. No committee dreamed anything up. If a screen didn't save time on a real week of trucking, it got deleted. Now that same system is open to every owner-operator and small fleet that's tired of running a company out of a notebook.

MileBrain is run by a working carrier in Detroit. Questions, bugs and feature requests go through the contact page and are read by the people who run trucks on it. What it does is on the features page, what it costs on pricing, and the thinking behind the numbers in the guides.

"If it doesn't survive a truck stop parking lot at 11pm, it doesn't ship."

The screens he needed for his own trucks — now yours.

What we run on

Three rules. No exceptions.

These aren't values off a poster. They're how the app gets built, every release.

Truckers first

Every entry takes 30 seconds or it does not ship. You're driving a truck, not doing data entry. If a screen needs a manual, it goes back to the shop.

Your data is yours

Export everything, anytime, in one file. Loads, invoices, fuel, repairs — the whole company. Leave whenever you want and take it all with you. No hostages.

Honest numbers

The app tells you when a load loses money — even when you don't want to hear it. Your real cost per mile, from your own fuel and repairs. No sugarcoating.

Run your company like he runs his.

Dispatch, breakeven, invoices, IFTA, maintenance — one brain, on your phone, in 30 seconds a load.
