Step by step

How to install it on each phone.

The button above does this for you where the phone allows it. Here is the same path written out, for the phone in your hand and for the one you hand a driver.

iPhone and iPad (Safari)

Safari is the browser that can put a web app on the Home Screen. An in-app browser inside Facebook, Instagram or Gmail cannot, so if a link opened there, copy it into Safari first.

  1. Open MileBrain in Safari

    Go to milebrain.com/app and log in. Adding from the app itself means the icon opens straight into your company.

  2. Tap Share

    The square with the arrow pointing up: at the bottom of Safari on an iPhone, top right next to the address bar on an iPad.

  3. Tap Add to Home Screen

    Scroll the share sheet down past the app icons. If the row is missing, tap Edit Actions at the bottom of the sheet and switch it on.

  4. Tap Add

    Keep the name MileBrain and tap Add at the top right. The icon lands on your Home Screen and opens full screen, like an app.

Android (Chrome)

Chrome installs web apps with one tap and puts the icon on the home screen and in the app drawer. Samsung Internet and Edge do the same with slightly different menu wording.

  1. Open this page in Chrome

    milebrain.com/get, on the phone itself. If you are reading this on a computer, scan the code below with the phone camera.

  2. Tap Install MileBrain

    The button at the top of this page. Chrome shows a small confirmation sheet; tap Install and you are done.

  3. If the button does nothing, use the menu

    Tap the three-dot menu at the top right of Chrome and choose Add to Home screen or Install app. If Chrome offers Open MileBrain instead, it is already installed.

Computer (Chrome or Edge)

On a desk, MileBrain runs as its own window with its own icon in the taskbar or dock: the dispatch board on a big screen, the same records as the phone.

  1. Open MileBrain in Chrome or Edge

    Go to milebrain.com/app and log in.

  2. Click the install icon

    At the right end of the address bar, or open the browser menu and choose Install MileBrain, then confirm.

  3. Or send it to your phone

    Scan the code on this page with your phone camera. It opens milebrain.com/get, where the Install button does the rest.

A driver does not need an app store account or your password: send the driver an invite link from More, then Company, in the app; it opens in the phone's browser, the driver sets a password, and the same steps above put the driver app on that phone. Everything the driver sees is limited by the role, not by the device. Updates arrive on their own the next time the app opens on a signal; there is nothing to download from a store and nothing to approve.

Works offline

Dead zone between Toledo and Gary? The app still opens. Anything you already looked at is there, and it syncs the second you’re back on signal.
